BYU–Idaho’s Mormon American Travel Studies takes students to key sites in both Church and American History on the American East Coast.

Gettysburg, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Connecticut
New Port, New Jersey
Boston, Lexington, Massachusetts
Manhattan, Palmyra, Seneca Fall, Fayette, Niagara Falls, New York
Kirtland, Columbus, Ohio
Springfield, Nauvoo, Illinois
The $2,975 fee includes:
• Round trip airfare from Salt Lake City to eastern United States
• Bus Transportation
• Hotels
• Two meals per day
• Entrance fees
Students are responsible for covering:
• One meal per day & snacks
• Souvenirs
• Tuition (which will vary depending on the number of credits taken)
Courses
A total of 9 credits may be earned. (Each of the following courses are 3 credit classes except for Religion 341, which is a 2 credit class.) Classes include:
History Classes (either FDAMF 101 or HIST 120, not both):
FDAMF 101 – American Foundations (3 credits)
HIST 120 – U.S. History to 1877 (3 credits)
HIST 370 – Early American History to 1800 (3 credits) – prerequisite required
Humanities Classes (choose one of the following):
FDHUM 101 – The Heroic Journey (3 credits)
HUM 266 – American Humanities (3 credits)
HUM 385 – Independent Travel Studies (up to 3 credits)
Religion Classes (choose one of the following):
FDREL 324 – Doctrine and Covenants (3 credits)
FDREL 341 – Latter-day Saint History from 1805-1844 (2 credits)
